Desert Safari – No trip to Dubai would be complete without a Desert Safari! Our Desert Safari included pick up and drop off from our hotel, a 40 minute exhilarating jeep ride bashing through the sand dunes, Sand Boarding down the dunes, a sunset Camel Ride and a delicious BBQ Middle Eastern dinner while watching belly dancers and a fire show. It will be an afternoon we will never forget. From the scenery to the experience. It was simply unforgetable!

Dubai Sky Views – Most people rush to Dubai for the Burj Khalifa but we recommend the Dubai Sky Views Observatory instead. This is an incredible observatory giving you 360 degree views over the Dubai Sky Line and the best part is you get uniterrupted views of the Burj Khalifa! What’s the point going up the Burj Khalifa if you can’t see it? The Sky Views Observatory gives you the views of the main attraction! Plus, other attractions here include a glass slide where you or your kids can slide down a few metres from the 53rd floor within a glass capsule. Look down (if you dare) as you slide through a suspended transparent tube. Take in the breathtaking views while walking over a long glass floor and enjoy an adrenaline raising experiences walking along the edge hands-free!

Atlantis The Palm – If you are willing to splurge for a few nights we highly recommend staying at Atlantis The Palm. This hotel is absolutely worth the hefty price tag. We only stayed 2 nights, purely to experience the luxury and gosh are we glad we did! We got the half board package which included breakfast and dinner and again, this was well worth the upgrade. We have never seen a breakfast buffet like it! If you opt for this also, be sure to book ahead for your dinner reservations as the restaurants book out well in advance. We recommend Saffron. It was probably the best dining experience we will ever have in our lifetime!

The staff are exceptional, helpful, accommodating and friendly, the facilities are out of this world amazing, the rooms are extremely clean, modern and spacious and the beach front location is pure bliss. There are non motorised sports, swimming pools, several restaraunts, bars, cafe’s and high end stores throughout the whole hotel and of course The Lost Chambers Aquarium and Aqua Venture Water Park. If you are an in house guest, you can access these free of charge and you can skip the queues! Got to love the perks!

The Lost Chambers Aquarium and Aquaventure World – Even if you are not staying at Atlantis The Palm, you can visit the aquarium and waterpark for the day. Aquaventure World is the largest Waterpark in the entire world and it sure does feel that way when you are there. There is also a designated area for babies and toddlers.

Burj Khalifa – Although we never went up to the top of the Burj Khalifa, it was still just as impressive seeing it from the outside. Dubai have a thing for building everything to be the best in the world and the Burj Khalifa just so happens to be the tallest building in the world. It is the most iconic building in Dubai and definitely needs to be added to the list! It is situated right next to the Dubai Mall and Fountain. Be sure to also try the Turkish Icecream Stall by the lake! This was such a fun highlight for our kids and they loved the ice cream tricks and performance that came with it!

Dubai Mall – Who would have thought visiting a shopping mall would be an experience in itself? The Dubai Mall is definitely worth checking out, even with kids! As well as the high end stores, there are so many attractions inside and loads of things to see and do for the whole family. We recommend getting to the Mall later in the afternoon so that it times in to watch the Dubai Fountain water and music show, which is just outside the Mall.
Dubai Fountain – Just outside the doors of the Dubai Mall is the Dubai Fountain. The Dubai Fountain is a choreographed water, light, and music show held daily on the Burj Khalifa Lake in front of the Dubai Mall. The fountain, which can shoot water up to 500 feet high, is free to watch. Shows take place every 30 minutes, from 6pm – 11pm every night. Top Tip, for the best views of the Fountain Show, head to Jo’s Cafe for dinner and reserve a table on the deck that overlooks the Fountain and time it in for the showtime.
